A petition has been created to ban content creators who talk up crypto casinos on Twitch. US officials are cracking down on such casinos. In April, state securities regulators in Alabama and Texas issued cease-and-desist orders against a company that was selling NFTs in order to operate crypto casino in the metaverse.

Most online gambling operators talk about revenue, mergers and acquisitions during their earnings calls. They don't talk much about customer acquisition costs (CAC). Analysts want to hammer home the point that shareholders want operators to rein in marketing and promotional expenses.

PlayUp is taking its time entering the US iGaming market. Two of the four states for which it has market access agreements don't yet offer legal online casino marketplaces. PlayUp hasn't launched any of those online casinos yet, but it still plans to do so.

Ontario has more internet gambling operators than most US online casino states. New Jersey has the most with 39 "internet gaming sites" and 25 "online sports pools". New York has launched most of its new online gambling apps in New Hampshire. Ontario's market added private operators on April 4. In less than a month, Ontario approved nearly as many operators as are live in the Garden State.

MGM Resorts International announced today that it's buying LeoVegas for $607 million. Ontario expanded its iGaming marketplace to include private operators less than a month ago. On Launch Day, BetMgm, Leovega and Royal Panda were among 13 private operator going live.

US online gambling fraud attempts declined 16% this year. US rates are still higher than Europe's. TransUnion released new research yesterday. Suspected digital fraud against legal gambling operators increased 50.1% from Q1 2021 to Q 1 2022.

Bally's Interactive division signed an agreement to invest $5 million in Vancouver-headquartered Snipp Interactive. Gambit Rewards, a Montreal-based company Snip acquired in February for $ 5 million, will be offered to Bally’s customers in New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia and New York.

Beto O'Rourke is running for governor of Texas. He wants to legalize both "legal casino gambling and sports betting in the state ofTexas".

Ontario's online gambling market has 16 legal iGaming sites. New Jersey has many more.  Ontarios market could surpass all US online casino states.

New York made progress on expanding its gambling industry this year. On Jan. 8, it launched online sports betting. Lawmakers agreed on a $221 billion state budget that included three retail casino licenses. Only iGaming legalization efforts stalled. However, legislators will resume work to legalize i gaming in 2023.

Last year's gambling bill failed because of a lack of time. Alabama has a constitutional prohibition on gambling. If the proposals are approved, they will go to the ballot for voter approval.

Detroit received $26.6 million in iGaming and online sports betting tax revenue during Fiscal Year 2021. Detroit's auto plants and three retail casinos closed after March 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus. The pandemic cost the Motor City about $348 million over the next 18 months.

The rate at which major brand names have been changing can be dizzying at times.

Christena Garduno is CEO of Media Culture, a multichannel brand response media agency. She believes that online gambling operators should target Gen Z bettors. The median age of current online gamblers is 34, according to the National Council on Problem Gambling. For retail gambers, the median is 44, and for lottery players, 47. For Gen X gamers, median ages are 47, while for retail casino gamblers it's 44.

US casinos and online gambling sites had their best year to date in 2021. The previous record of $43.7 billion dates back to 2019. The American Gaming Association updates its Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker on a quarterly basis.

Fraudsters are targeting the online gambling industry. The US gaming industry saw 262% increase in fraud attempts from Q2 2020 to Q1 2021. New York has already shattered US online sports betting records since its launch on Jan 8. Indiana lawmakers killed two online casino bills in record time. HB 1337 and HB1356 were introduced and killed in one month. They were the greatest hope for another state entering the list of legal states with online gambling.

PointsBet Casino is now live in three states. The company launched in West Virginia today. It secured an online casino license approval in Pennsylvania on January 20th.

Indiana introduced two bills this month aimed at legalizing online casino gambling. Illinois is the only other state with active legislation. The main difference between the two measures is how much revenue communities containing retail casinos will receive. In 2020 and 2021, Sen. Jon Ford proposed a bill that would’ve legalized online casinos and online poker.

The growth rates of online casinos have been flat or up to high single digit percentages. December was a better month than many recently. The private online casino market in Ontario will be different from the US model. Operators will need to enter into commercial agreements with the province. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has a monopoly on online casinos. iGaming Ontario was created in July. It will oversee the private igaming marketplace that was slated to launch this month, but will more than likely debut early next year.

Connecticut's online casinos made $8.9 million in October. The state's two online gambling operators generated $6.6 million. Michigan's iGaming revenues were $29.4 million for January 2021. Michigan has added five more operators since its launch. It is on course for over $1 billion in i gaming revenue in its first year. Connecticut has 3.5 million residents, whereas Michigan is home to 10 million people.

In the UK, the poor play online games and slots just as often as the wealthy. In the US, 26% of those with an annual income of $100,000 or more gamble online, but only 23% who earn less than $25,00 do the same.

Illinois introduced a new online version of its lottery on November 15th. The state is catching up with the other states that have introduced online lottery games. The retail versions of these games have generated $48.3 million in sales since their launch 14 months ago. There are seven states with full-featured online lotteries and another seven with draw sales only.

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe wants to launch online gambling in Michigan. The tribe runs Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel.

Evolution Gaming has a monopoly on live dealer gaming in the US. An unnamed competitor has filed a complaint with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The complaint alleges Evolution knowingly allows its games to be played in countries where gambling is illegal. The alleged wrongdoing is by customers using its products.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania both passed the $100 million monthly revenue threshold in October. Michigan is at $775 million as of Oct. 31. Delaware and West Virginia saw a rise in daily average revenue. The data comes directly from each state's respective regulatory body. The states are looking to finish the year on a strong note. Online gambling revenue surged in September. All three states held on to those gains in the October, though they didn't add much to it.

At 11 a.m. tomorrow, several online casino operators working with studio provider Evolution Gaming will be able to secure a separate table for their own players. BetMGM Casino is working on creating a bespoke branded studio in Michigan.

Richmond voters are on the verge of rejecting One Casino and Resort. The retail casino is losing its referendum by 2,225 votes. If the final precinct votes in favor, the casino will be built and open in 2024.

West Virginia is the smallest of the full-featured US online gambling markets. There are currently five online casinos in the state. Caesars Online Casino and WynnBet Casino are coming to West Virginia.

US iOS Social Casinos Close In On $1 billion Annual Revenue. Revenues for both have been rising in tandem in the US. Real-money online gambling receipts totaled more than $340 million in gross gaming revenue in September 2021.

Scientific Games Corporation is selling its lottery business for $6 billion to Brookfield Business Partners. The company will focus on online casino business.

Aristocrat Leisure will pay $2.9 billion to acquire Playtech. PlayTech is a manufacturer of physical slot machines and Big Fish Games is developer and distributor of video games aimed at a casual audience.

Play Gun Lake’s online casino bettors in Michigan will soon have a single platform for deposits and withdrawals in three states. Payment platform provider Paysafe announced today that Parx plans to use its technology in New Jersey and Pennsylvania next.

FanDuel Casino is available as a standalone app in New Jersey. FanDuell is launching its live dealer offerings in Michigan. On July 22, the Michigan Gaming Control Board authorized Evolution Gaming to provide live dealers services to 10 operators.

PointsBet has launched an online casino in New Jersey. It is the first casino to launch on the Bally's license. The company branched out into the US iGaming space in Michigan in May. Its revenue in June was down 15.9% from May's total of $612,361. TheScore is expected to follow the PointsBet's example. Baly's Atlantic City was purchased last year by the company known as Twin River Worldwide Holdings.

Pennsylvania Online Casinos See Revenue Drop In June. Gross Pennsylvania iGaming revenue remains up almost 60% year over year. New Jersey and Michigan have both continued to hold steady. New York and New England have seen a decline in iGambling revenue. Pennsylvania's revenue fell 10% from May to June, but it's not entirely due to players returning to the retail casinos. Some players who discovered online gambling during the shutdown may simply be tiring of it.

Michigan's retail and online casinos earned $89.2 million in June. The daily average was down 2.8%. The state's gross gaming revenue dropped 5.9% month over month, but it was only because of the shorter month of June than May.

New Jersey's online casinos and poker rooms grossed $107 million in June. Total gaming revenue amounted to $393 million. In-person gambling was still shut down at that time due to COVID-19. Retail casinos remain the biggest revenue driver in New Jersey and the US.

Urban One CEO is mum on whether the new retail casino in Virginia will offer online gambling. Construction on the casino has been postponed pending approval from the Virginia Lottery. Alfred C. Liggins III said the project is going to offer what the current law allows. He did discuss his plans for a sportsbook and poker room at the Casino.

FireKeepers Casino Hotel launched in Michigan today. It's the 13th online casino operator in the state. The 14th and final operator will be Soaring Eagle. NYX Digital, which was acquired by Scientific Games, launched at noon.

Foundation is a new technology that tracks play in slot machines and allows that data to be interfaced to other systems. It will integrate land-based and online slots. BetMGM Casino and WynnBET Casino use it to integrate their loyalty programs.

YouTube will restrict gambling ad placements on social media networks.

Mohegan Digital launched today as the iGaming arm of Mohegans Sun, the tribal property located in Uncasville. CT online gambling still needs federal approval before the bill Gov. Ned Lamont signed into law on May 27 goes into effect.

PlayStudios shares are trading around the same level as when they debuted on Nasdaq on June 22. The company was valued at $1.1 billion in February. PlayStudio offers free-to-play games with rewards for players.

In the US, responsible gambling education is aimed at those who can legally gamble. There is no such education for Americans under the age of 21. The issue of preventing gambling illiteracy among the young is generally dismissed out-of-hand by pedagogical professionals.

Virginia has authorized construction of five retail casinos at a cost of nearly $2.3 billion. It also passed legislation to create seven licensed online sportsbooks and an iLottery. Online casino gamling and online poker are not included in the legislation. The state legislature won't reconvene until January 2022.

Pennsylvania Online Gambling Breaks The $100 million mark in May. New Jersey and Michigan saw monthly revenue held steady from April to May, but Pennsylvania enjoyed a large increase. Taxable revenue broke into the nine figures for the first time with $101,251,772 in combined online casino and online poker revenue. It's the second state to have done so after New York in January.

Bally's Board Chairman Soohyung Kim believes the future of online gambling is working together with land-based casinos. Bally’s merger with Gamesys positions it to be a market leader.

The Illinois online gambling bill has not been passed despite positive feedback at a committee hearing in April. Today marks the final day of the state's regular legislative session. Lawmakers are now focusing on other issues.   i.e. a budget and a new energy policy. i .e Online gambling expansion in the US is often delayed due to time. In Illinois the bill might fail due of active resistance, but it might die due. to the clock running out.

Connecticut Senate approved House Bill 6451. The bill goes to Gov. Ned Lamont's office for signature. It's not yet clear if the US Department of Interior will approve the new tribal compact. Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes own Connecticut's casinos. They have a duopoly on casino gambling. Lamonth negotiated a deal in March to allow the state lottery to share in sports betting in return for allowing the tribes to offer their casino games online.
