The success of 2021 reflects the industry's commitment to health and safety. Americans have welcomed gaming’s expansion across the country.

AGA reports record-smashing revenue figures for 2021 US Gambling. Sports betting and iGaming accounted for $8 billion of the $53 billion total in 2021. The industry is being driven by new product classes and new markets. iGambling accounted to 15% of total revenue in the 2021, up from 3.3% in 2019. Online casino and poker revenue rose 139% from 2020 to 2021 and sevenfold since 2019, but that year’s revenue came almost entirely from New Jersey online casinos.

The growth of online gambling is slowing down. Online sports betting has grown by 1280% in Q1 2021. The major driver of growth in both verticals has been the opening of new markets. Online casinos are not likely to grow as fast. Illinois may pass its Internet Gaming Act, but it won't be implemented until Q4 at the earliest. iGaming states need to increase their growth by 25% or 30% to match the growth seen in 2021 and 2022.

Annual growth rates for each product segment are given relative to 2020.
