LAS VEGAS, Nevada — A Las Vegas police officer is being held in jail, accused of robbing a casino at gunpoint while he was off-duty.

Caleb Rogers, 33, is charged with burglary with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, according to a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The robbery occurred just before 7 a.m. Sunday at an unnamed casino. Security workers at the casino called police and said they had detained the suspect in the robbery.

Rogers appeared in court Monday and is being held in jail on a $250,000 bond, according to reports. Police tell the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Rogers is a suspect in the robberies of two other casinos. Additional charges are possible.

The LVMPD says Rogers had been employed with the department since 2015. He is being suspended without pay as the investigation continues.
