Las Vegas Police Officer Arrested for Rio Casino Robbery
A Las Vegas police officer has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Rio sportsbook. He may have been involved in two other area robberies.
Officer Caleb Rogers was arrested over the weekend in connection with a sportsbook robbery at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Rogers, 33, was arrested and charged with burglary with a firearm, robbery with the deadly weapon and assault with deadly weapons.
Metro Police suspended Rogers without pay until the investigation concludes. Rogers is suspected of two robberies. One took place near Aliante Parkway in early January and another at the Red Rock Casino Resort in November. The suspect is white or Hispanic and of medium build.
The Las Vegas Police Protective Association is disappointed and disgusted by Rogers' actions. The LVPPA wants him to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. He was arrested for Rio Casino robbery.
Robber was arrested at the Waldorf Astoria after fleeing from the Cosmopolitan casino. Last year, the casino cage robbery happened at Cosmo.
