The BGC has previously pledged to spend £100m over four years to 2024 on projects it chose. Iain Duncan Smith calls for a statutory levy to fund research, education and treatment. A government white paper on gambling is expected early this year. No 10 is considering introducing a levy on the industry. Gambling licences are conditional on making an annual contribution.
