A 70-year-old woman is still processing her win after scoring a huge jackpot while getting a lottery ticket for her husband.
The woman, from Genesee County, Michigan, picked up the winning ticket at MoJoe's Food and Spirits in Davison, Michigan. Choosing to remain anonymous, she explained that she had been asked by her husband to pick him up a lottery ticket and decided to get two for herself on a whim.
In the end, she won a staggering $452,886 (£360,000) on the Michigan Lottery's Double Win Wild Time Fast Cash game. She bought two tickets, and while she was unlucky with the first, the second saw her winning the jackpot.
At first, she wasn't so sure she had won, so she went to her husband to ask him to look over the ticket. In the end, he realised it was a jackpot-winning ticket and had a "few choice words" before the pair celebrated with those in the store.
She said: "My husband won $10 playing the Lucky 7s Fast Cash game and asked me to buy him another ticket. While I was getting his ticket, I decided to buy two Double Win Wild Time tickets for myself.
"The first ticket wasn't a winner but when I scanned the second ticket, I got a message I hadn't seen before. I got to better lighting, and looked over the ticket and saw it was a jackpot winner.
"I went to my husband and asked him to tell me if I was reading everything right. When he looked at the ticket and realised it was a jackpot winner, he said a few choice words and then we started celebrating with everyone at MoJoe's."
The lucky lady visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She's said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her home, send her husband and son on an Alaskan fishing trip, and share it with family.
