MAURY COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Midstate caregiver accused of using the debit cards of her patients to make personal charges has been indicted by a grand jury.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) says the investigation into 38-year-old Cynthia Taylor Dobbins began in June 2023. Agents allege Dobbins was using the debit cards of several home care patients in Maury County to make personal charges on an online gambling site.

Dobbins is charged with four counts of financial exploitation of an elderly/vulnerable adult and four counts of theft of $1,000 or less. She surrendered on Dec. 29 and has since been released on a $10,000 bond.
