Potawatomi Casino Hotel is having a big year. The local landmark is in the midst of a major $190 million renovation, adding new restaurants, bars, gaming areas, luxe amenities and more. In the summer, the hotel opened Cream City Coffee Co., a new Marketplace dining hall, and Rock & Brews, a restaurant from KISS legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. And on Sept. 1, it revealed the second phase of the renovation with the opening of the third floor’s new gaming and VIP area.

You’ll notice the changes right away, starting with the bright LED designs along the columns. Past Rock & Brews, you enter the new Atrium gaming area, a grand, brightly lit circle of machines underneath a wide skylight. In the center, you’ll find the Buffalo Lightning Link slot machine (well known to many Potawatomi loyalists). Past the Atrium, the space opens to the massive new gaming floor, which has 633 slot machines, along with 16 table games. At the center of the new space is the ElevenHundred Bar & Lounge, named after the temperature in degrees Celsius at which a flame turns bright orange. The bar has an extensive beer menu, including the exclusive Dealer’s Choice Potawatomi Pilsner.

Along the wall, you’ll spot a food truck built into the space – that’s Street Eatz, serving brats, tacos, barbecue and more. Use one of the electronic kiosks to fuel up on the go. On the opposite side of the Atrium, Potawatomi Casino Hotel’s Diamond and Emerald members have exclusive access to the new 1833 Club, named after the year the Potawatomi Nation signed their treaty with the United States government. The luxurious lounge has slots, table games and a deeply stocked bar. The whiskey- and tequila-focused menu includes a wide selection of exclusive small-batch spirits, including a “grandfather bottle” of Remy Martin Louis XIII.

The space also features a private kitchen, where VIP members get a 360-degree view of Milwaukee’s top chefs cooking exclusive meals. The space will host a rotating lineup of chefs for special events, including local standouts like Justin Carlisle of Ardent and Mario Giuliani of Carnevor Steakhouse, who helped kick off the opening celebrations.

With the second phase of the renovation complete, the casino is now looking to phase three – the construction of its new permanent sportsbook on the second floor, the first of its kind in Wisconsin. Bettors can use the temporary sportsbook now, but in 2024 that offering will expand to a permanent build-out with dozens of kiosks.
