Lotto: Tips and tricks that could win you millions

Many dream of winning the lottery, but there are many methods that people have used in order to win. Is it coincidence or a method to the madness?

Oz Lotto’s $2 million first division prize will jackpot next week after no one had all the lucky numbers.

Four people however had more luck in division two, each taking home $25,000 each.

The winning numbers were 4, 37, 6, 45, 38, 28, 7 and the supplementaries were 43 and 29.

So far this year, there have been 11 Oz Lotto division one winning entries across the nation, totalling more than $156.1 million in prize money.

Victoria is leading the pack, home to four division one winners in 2021 alone.

Behind them was NSW and Western Australia, with three division one winners in both states.

The last time somebody won a $2 million cash prize was in November 2020

An Adelaide man in his 40s, from the northern suburb of Salisbury, swore when he heard the news.

“Bloody hell. Are you serious? Wow, that’s amazing. Thank you so much,” the Salisbury man told lottery officials when he heard he was a multi-millionaire.

“I’m a little bit shocked and shaking to be honest. I didn’t expect to hear that when I answered the phone.

“I play regularly but not always Oz Lotto. I play something different every week and just grab a QuickPick.

“I never thought I’d win a prize like this.”

The man said he ran his own business and had been struggling to keep it afloat. His windfall was exactly what he needed.

“The first thing I’ll do is pay off the home loan. It will be done and dusted,” he said.

“My partner and I run our own business, and we’ve been working extremely hard at the moment to get it going.

“This will make it just much easier and take the pressure off.

“It will be great to cut back down on work a little bit.

“I’m sure my other half will convince me to take a holiday too.”

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said that the Olympics had made everyone in the mood to win, especially for this week’s lottery.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing our Australian athletes win at the Olympics, but how would it feel actually to score a big win yourself?” Ms Hobdell said.

“Our green and gold lottery balls are ready to roll for this week’s Oz Lotto draw, and we can’t wait to see who might end up on top of the winner’s podium afterwards.
