NY Lawmakers Call for Issue of Casino Licenses

NY lawmakers want the state to issue downstate casino licenses this year. The state's gaming industry witnessed the launch of mobile sports betting recently. It is believed that the digitalization and the expansion of land-based property would be of significant benefit to the New York State.
Gary Pretlow is the Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Gaming and Wagering. He suggests Genting New York LLC’s Resorts World New. City and MGM Resort”s Empire State Casino as the potential front-runners for the full-casino licenses. Joseph Addabbo, Chair of Senate Gambling Committee, also supports the idea of awarding three downstate casinos sometime this year.
NY Lawmakers Call for Issue of Casino Licenses. New York State Gaming Commission started its Request for Information for candidates who want to get their hands on one of the available licenses. At least eight casino operators have applied, including MGM Resorts and Genting New Yorkers LLC.
