Lottery prizes for tonight's draw were boosted after no-one claimed the “must-be-won” £12.7 million jackpot.

It meant more than 971,000 ticket holders who matched just two numbers received £5 plus a free lucky dip, while more than 99,000 players netted £100 for matching three numbers rather than the usual £30. Fifty-one players scooped £9,873 each after matching five of six balls, with another 4,260 ticket-holders winning £274 each for matching four.

There was better luck in the Thunderball jackpot after the top prize of £500,000 was won by a single ticket-holder. Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “It’s amazing news for over 971,000 Lotto players who have won £5 plus a free lucky dip for matching just two main numbers in tonight’s whopping £12.7 million Lotto ‘Must Be Won’ draw.

“On top of this, more than 99,000 ticket-holders scooped £100, instead of £30, for matching just three main numbers. As no ticket-holder won the jackpot, the prize is shared between all the other winners.

“Thanks to National Lottery players, more than £30 million is generated every week for good causes across the country. This supports everything from local projects making a difference where you live, to our nations’ athletes at the recent Commonwealth Games.”

Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is an estimated £3.8 million. The winning Lotto numbers were 13, 16, 21, 30, 49 and 54 and the bonus ball was eight.

The winning Thunderball numbers were 15, 16, 17, 22, 34 and the Thunderball was five. Set of balls seven was used in draw machine Arthur.
