Saturday’s must-be-won lottery jackpot will be about £11.5 million, after no one scooped Wednesday’s top prize, according to the Press Association news agency. No ticket-holders matched all six main numbers to win the jackpot.

One player matched five numbers and the bonus ball to win £1 million. There were 23 players who each won £1,750 after matching five of the six numbers.

The winning Lotto numbers were 16, 39, 41, 44, 49, 50 and the bonus number was 06. The set of balls used were 1 and the draw machine Guinevere produced the numbers.

Andy Carter, Camelot’s senior winners’ adviser, said: “It promises to be an exciting night for Lotto players on Saturday with a fantastically festive £11.5 million ‘must-be-won’ jackpot up for grabs. In such a draw, if the jackpot isn’t won, the prize amount is shared out among the other prize tiers, meaning lots of players could win lots more, just in time for Christmas."

He added: “Thanks to National Lottery players, more than £30 million is generated every week for good causes across the country. This supports everything from local projects making a difference where you live, to our nations’ athletes at the Commonwealth Games.”

No players matched all five numbers to win the Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw. One ticket matched four numbers to claim £13,000.

The winning Thunderball numbers were 14, 24, 36, 37, 39 and the Thunderball number was 12. No players scooped the £500,000 top prize by matching five numbers and the Thunderball.

Three players won £5,000 by matching five numbers.
