For Mega Millions, you select five white ball numbers between 1 and 70 (no repeats) and a single gold Mega Ball number between 1 and 25. Matching all five white balls and the Mega Ball wins you the jackpot. Tickets cost $2 per entry.
For an extra $1 per entry, you can add Megaplier to your Mega Millions tickets. Megaplier multiplies any non-jackpot winnings by 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x depending on which Megaplier ball is drawn.
Mega Millions drawings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. ET. Drawings are broadcast live on many local news networks. You can also check for winning numbers after the fact.
