Mason County man wins $380K lottery prize, plans to help family after big win
LANSING, MI -- A Mason County man didn’t know how to react as his emotions took over when he won a $380,430 jackpot playing the Michigan Lottery’s Diamond Wild Time Progressive Fast Cash game.
“I usually buy a few Fast Cash tickets at a time,” said the 58-year-old player who chose to remain anonymous. “I take them home, put them face down on the table, and then my wife and I each grab a few to check over. When I flipped this one over, I saw the jackpot prize right away and immediately felt anxious, nervous, and excited all in one.”
The winner bought his ticket at the Meijer gas station, located at 3900 West US Highway 10 in Ludington. He visited lottery headquarters in Lansing recently to claim his prize. With the winnings, he plans on sharing some with family, paying some bills and saving the remainder for retirement.
“It feels surreal to win a Lottery jackpot prize,” said the player. “You never think that you will actually win, but now that I have, it’s unbelievable.”

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.
And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a winner worth $1 million sold in Hartland in 2019 went unclaimed. The ticket was purchased at the Speedway in Hartland, but the winner never came forward to claim the prize. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
