Vegas casinos enjoy a record-setting February

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Spurred on by huge events like the Super Bowl and the Chinese New Year, not to mention an extra day to play with it being a Leap Year, February was a terrific month for gaming in southern Nevada.
According to new numbers released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Strip casinos won $800.7 million from gamblers in February. Both statewide and Strip gaming wins were the best ever for the month of February.
Helping the overall numbers was a huge baccarat win of $180.5 million, almost double the amount from February of 2023
Sportsbooks in Nevada won $47.9 million in on wagers that totaled $712.3 million. Compared to February 2023, that's a 16.1% increase in the win total and an 8.0% increase in the handle. Football wagers totaled $190.7 million and increased 23.9% or $36.8 million over February 2023.
On the down side, off-Strip casinos saw a drop from January’s figures, posting a win of $142.5 million, a drop of $27 million from January
