Twitch is changing its policy regarding gambling streams. Gambling websites that are not licensed in the United States or operate in other jurisdictions that do not offer quality consumer protections will be banned from Twitch starting on October 18.

Twitch is a live streaming platform owned by Amazon. It is popular among game creators. Recently, a streamer named ItsSliker was accused of scamming creators on Twitch out of cash to support a gambling addiction. Twitch announced yesterday that it will ban live streams with gambling content as of October 18.

Gambling is no longer allowed on Twitch, but Poker, Sports Betting and Fantasy Sports will remain an option. Twitch made the change to avoid future problems. Pokimane, a popular creator, asked Twitch to make changes regarding its gambling policy.
