TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - A Tuscola County man found that life gives second chances sometimes and they still can pay off.

The 44-year-old, who chose to remain anonymous, won more than $260,000 from the Michigan Lottery's BIG CA$H second chance drawing on Jan. 10. He came forward recently to claim his prize.

The lucky winner played an online instant lottery game, which includes a second chance drawing for a chance to win a progressive jackpot. Players win an entry into the second chance drawing with for every 50 cents they wager.

"I have been playing the eligible BIG CA$H online games hoping to win the big jackpot," said the player. "When I saw an email from the Lottery notifying me that I had won, a feeling of relief instantly came over me. Winning this prize came at the perfect time."

The lucky winner plans to invest his prize in real estate, but not until he completes a tastier goal.

"I am going to buy a lot of cake to celebrate my win," said the player.

Michigan Lottery players have won $6.8 million in progressive prizes from the BIG CA$H second chance game since April 2022. A new drawing period begins every month with a jackpot that starts at $1,000 and builds until someone wins.
