Sunbury Neighbours Share $1 Million Monday Lotto Win!

Neighbours from Sunbury, who usually buy QuickPick lottery tickets, are today thanking a last-minute change of plans for their $1 million Monday Lotto win.
The Victorians held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4088 on Monday 21 June 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $1 million.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, one of the winning men explained the pair had a tradition of buying a Monday Lotto ticket together.
“I actually play each week with my neighbour. We’ve been playing together for a few years now,” he shared.
“We usually buy a QuickPick, but this time we decided to mark the numbers.
“We actually closed our eyes and picked the numbers that way. They weren’t special or anything like that, but they certainly feel that way now!
“I checked our ticket last night after the draw, and as I was scrolling, I saw we had all six numbers and I thought ‘no, no, no, no!’.
“I ran straight over to my neighbour’s house and showed him.
“We checked it about 100 times! We couldn’t believe it.
“After that, we told our wives and we all had a drink to celebrate.
“Both of our wives are so shocked. I don’t think they can quite believe it.
“We’ve always dreamt about winning division one, but honestly, we would’ve been happy with just a few thousand dollars. This is better than we could’ve imagined!
“It’s made us two very happy men!
“We can’t stop pinching ourselves. It’s a dream come true!”
When asked how the pair planned to enjoy their million-dollar win, the overjoyed men said they wanted to be sensible with their prize.
"It’s made us financially secure,” he continued.
“We are both going to go and see an accountant in the next couple of days.
“I think we will probably each invest half and then use the other half for fun.
“It’s amazing!”
Their winning marked System 7 entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4088 on 21 June 2021 were 3, 18, 33, 38, 40 and 43, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 34.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4088 – one from Victoria and one from Queensland.
