Sky River Casino in Elk Grove is about to get bigger.On Friday, Wilton Rancheria unveiled its expansion plans and shared renderings. The casino already has gaming, entertainment, and more than a dozen restaurants and bars. Now, they want to add more features to attract customers, and they plan to do that in two phases. The focus of phase one is a new parking garage with 1,600 spaces. There will also be an enhanced valet service. Phase two will focus on amenities that includes a hotel with 300 rooms, an outdoor pool, and a spa. They also want to build spaces for meetings, events, and entertainment. For the casino, there are plans for 400 more slot gaming options, and a new high limit and V.I.P gaming area. "We have a beautiful, beautiful country up here. And so we are hopeful it will bring more people to our region and just showcase who we are," said Jesus Tarango, chairman of Wilton Rancheria. Sky River Casino now has about 1,600 employees. They say the expansion plans will add another 200 jobs. The timeline expects to have phase one done by next summer. Phase two is slated to be complete by early 2027. Wilton Rancheria does point out that this all depends on construction, availability of materials, and the weather. Sky River Casino opened almost two years ago in August 2022. It's located off Highway 99 in Elk Grove.
