Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment Unveils Athens Casino Resort Concept

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment unveiled its concept for a casino resort as part of a larger project for the transformation of Athens’ former international airport into a luxury multi-purpose complex. The Hellenic Gaming Commission closed the call for tenders for operators of the casino portion of Hellinikon resort last week.
Mohegan has unveiled its casino resort concept called INSPIRE Athens. The concept includes a casino with at least 120 table games and 1,200 slot machines, luxury hotel, entertainment venues, a convention center, retail space, dining outlets and resort pools. Steelman Partners has designed the design of the casino.
INSPIRE Athens hopes to be the catalyst that sparks the development of the Hellinikon area into the coveted Athenian Riviera.
Mohegan’s INSPIRE Athens will consist of two towers connected with an infinity pool. The resort”s two tower were inspired by the Caryatids, female sculptures that serve as architectural support in temples and other Ancient Greece buildings.
Mohegan's INSPIRE Athens casino resort is expected to be completed within 24-36 months. It will be part of the €8 billion Hellinikon complex. The casino portion of this complex will occupy around 15,000 square meters of its overall 6,200,00 square meter area. Hell inikons also includes residential areas, MICE facilities, luxury hotels, museums, high-end retail areas and sports facilities.
