Someone who remains unidentified won a $1 million prize after their easy-pick ticket fell just short of the nearly-record-breaking $725 million jackpot.
That person purchased the winning ticket at New Stockwell Market in Lafayette, about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. The Powerball winning numbers were 23-35-45-66-67, with the Powerball of 20. There were no grand prize winners, so the jackpot climbed to nearly $900 million.
The other million-dollar ticket that matched all five numbers except for the Powerball was purchased in Florida.
An Iowa woman became the only Powerball winner to take home a $2 million prize. She was one number away from the grand prize.
If someone had won Wednesday night and taken the cash option, they would have gone home with more than $370 million.
