11 Macau satellite casinos will continue to operate under the new 10-year gaming concessions starting from January 1, 2023. This is a decrease of 38.9% from the 18 satellite casino that were in the market as of June-end this year. The information is based on the content of the the concession contracts published on Friday night. The satellite venues operate in Macao under a gaming licence of a Maca concessionaire. They usually promote themselves. Under Macua’s revised gaming law, they have three years to transition to a management-company arrangement.

The new NSW Independent Casino Commission came into force on Monday. It will have unprecedented powers to monitor casino activities and act against operators who engage in misconduct. New laws make casinos liable for wrongdoing and they face fines of up to AUD 100 million. The commission's first task will be to consider the findings of the review into The Star casino and its suitability to hold a license. The minister for hospitality and racing Kevin Anderson will not rush the commission chief Philip Crawford to brief him on it. He will consider it in light of new retrospective casino laws. Several Star managers resigned during the Bell review. They included chief executive Matt Bekier, CFO Harry Theodore, chief legal and risk officer Paula Martin and Chief Casino Officer Greg Hawkins.

APE arranged installation of gaming equipment from Jumbo Technology Co Ltd in one of the biggest casino resorts in Macau’s Cotai district. The products installed include Jumbo's D-27 slot cabinet with the “Long Yi Fa” progressive jackpot link. APE said the cabinet will be compliant with Macao‘s latest standards, known as the Electronic Gaming Machine Technical Standards version 2.0, in the near future.

Players can win the Grand Jackpot in multiple ways.

Crown Resorts is finally opening its VIP casino at its AUD 2.2 billion ($1.6 billion) integrated casino resort the Crown Sydney. The company faced delays in opening the casino due to investigations around it in multiple states in Australia.

Kim Huyen Tran Nguyen lost AU$950,000 at The Star casino in Sydney. She was banned for one year and cannot work there. The casino is still holding $2500 of her money. It has asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit and award them legal costs. The St has been embroiled in several controversial incidents in recent years. A highroller is suing the casino for more than $12 million in unpaid debts. Last year, a baccarat dealer was jailed for two years after cheating the Star out of about AUD$500,00.

Crown's Sydney casino is expected to deliver $100 million in tax revenue to the NSW government in its first year. It's a quarter of what Crown's Melbourne venue delivers to Victoria's coffers.

The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 501, has sent a public record request to the Land and Urban Construction Bureau. According to corporate filings, Mios is one of four director group for local real estate firm Easyway Investment Company Limited, which according to union, is linked to triads. In 2007, Gentings Hong Kong and GentING International acquired a 75% interest in a Macau-based entity called Treasure Island Entertainment Complex Limited. Treasure island owned a parcel of land on the Macao peninsula situated along Praca Ferreira do Amaral. Gentinh intended to develop a hotel on this land and enter into an agreement with SJM to operate a casino there.

Las Vegas Sands is considering a return to the American market. Sands are considering New York, Texas and Florida.

The Star Sydney Casino CCTV footage from 2018 raises concerns about money laundering at the property. The junket operator SunCity was running its own private gaming salon at The Star, despite suspicions that it was laundering money. The casino's due diligence group manager Angus Buchanan had suspicions previously about the money launderers at this casino.

LT Game Ltd has just launched its new E-Baccarat table. It combines a live dealer with electronic betting. The dealer deals the cards and is not required for placing bets or collecting winnings. LT Game has three E Baccarats tables in the Macau Jockey Club. The table allows for cash and vouchers to be automatically converted and stored.

DEQ Systems Corp and LT Game announce a cross-border partnership to deliver EZ Baccarat on LT's Live Multi Game (LMG) systems worldwide. LT will also distribute the traditional live table game version of Ez Bacarat in Asia Pacific. EEZ is a baccararat game with over 7,000 player positions to date. It is available in Macau at MGM Macao and Wynn Macua casinos. It's also available on electronic terminals. There are 3,900 LMG terminals installed worldwide, 3 of which are in casinos in the Macaese.

Macau casinos seek to replace junket revenues amid crackdown, industry uncertainty. VIP gaming rooms, which made up about a third of Macau’s gaming revenues in 2019, have taken a big hit following the arrest last month of Alvin Chau, head of Suncity. Since the arrested, shares of Wynn Macao have plunged about 23%, Sands China has fallen about 13%, and MGM China dropped 20%. The future of the industry is in mass and premium mass recovery. It will imply controlling COVID-19. The pace of recovery in late 2021 and 2022 depends on COVI outbreaks and travel restrictions coming down.

Online gaming is on a growth stage. Playgon Games Inc. is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology company. Other companies jockeying for the end user, curating gaming and gambling services for consumers include Bally's Corporation, DraftKings Inc., Golden Nugget Online Gaming Inc, and Penn National Gaming. Suntrust Home Developers Inc, 51% owned by Suncity, says development of its US$1 billion Manila hotel and casino project will continue as planned despite the arrest of Suntrust Chairman Alvin Chau this week. SunTrust has cash and cash equivalents of around Php7.7 billion (US$152.8 million) to support immediate construction and working capital requirements. Chau was arrested by Macau authorities on Saturday and sent to Coloane Prison to await trial on Monday for alleged criminal association, illegal gambling and money laundering.

Suncity's VIP rooms have been closed down following the arrest of CEO Alvin Chau on suspicion of cross-border gambling and money-laundering. The move will slash the number of Macau-based employees of Suncity Group by a third. Chau was arrested on Sunday amid an ongoing crackdown on gambling in mainland China. The National People's Congress approved an amendment to the law banning cross border gambling activities from March 1, 2021. Chinese authorities made 14 arrests in illegal gambling cases between January and September this year. Some contractors send up to 50 billion yuan a year to Macao to finance gambling.

The secretary for economy and finance issued a notice on Tuesday announcing a 45-day public consultation period to iron out new regulations on the gambling industry. The proposed regulations include the process of issuing licenses, the duration of said licenses and the level of government oversight on industry, as well as an increase in the local shareholdings of the casino companies.

Sands China Ltd distanced itself from a website offering "online gaming" that it says is exploiting the company's brands. The case was being investigated by the Public Security Department in Guangdong province. Guangzhou's Public security department urged its residents involved in "cross-border gambling crimes" to turn themselves in by April 30. China’s amended criminal code outlaws anyone assisting in “cross border gambling” from March 1 this year.
