August was another good month for casinos and other gaming properties in Nevada. The market collectively reported gross gaming revenue of more than $1 billion. Las Vegas Strip provided much of the boost.
Nevada's casinos and gaming properties reported a combined $1.16 billion in revenue for August. The Strip casinos reported $625.6 million in August, which is 97% higher than a year earlier. Downtown Las Vegas reported revenue of $64.1 million, 80.5% up on last year. Clark County took in $993.4 million for a 67% jump over last August and Reno added 19.2%. The number of visitors to Las Angeles was 9.99 million people in the month of August 2019. The Caldor Fire had an impact on the activity in and around Lake Tahoe. North Lake. Tahoes slot activity lost 7.9% compared to 2019 and South Lake, Tahue slot action dropped 16.8%.
