Fifth Street Gaming and Dallas-based Ojos Locos Sports Cantina announced Friday their agreement to collaborate on the first U.S. hotel-casino dedicated to the Latino community, replacing the Lucky Club Hotel & Casino in North Las Vegas, with a renovated and rebranded resort that will feature Ojos Locos Sports Cantina as its dining, entertainment and nightlife centerpiece. The renovations are scheduled to be complete by December 2022.

The project involves the renovation of a 10,000-square-foot casino, 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor entertainment space and a restaurant, able to accommodate nearly 300 guests.

The hotel-casino will continue to offer a robust calendar of concerts featuring Latino artists, as well as Mexican rodeos and food festivals.

Neither Fifth Street Gaming nor Ojos Locos Sports Cantina disclosed the project’s price tag, nor the name of the new property.

In an official press release, Seth Schorr, CEO for Fifth Street Gaming, spoke about this new alliance and renovation project and said: “We are gratified to join together on this endeavor with Ojos Locos, a vibrant and growing brand which has, over the last 12 years, established itself as a national leader in providing authentic hospitality experiences to the Latino community. Their expertise, combined with our 15-year record of producing successful events designed for the Latino audience in Southern Nevada, makes them the ideal partner in this first-ever Latino-focused integrated gaming, dining and entertainment venture.”

Vice President of Marketing for Ojos Locos Sports Cantina, Laura Caudillo, also commented: “We are excited and honored to collaborate with Fifth Street Gaming on this project, allowing us to bring the Ojos experience to Nevada. We look forward to adding to the Latino community experience with our excellent service, delicious food and fun atmosphere.”

Ojos Locos has 18 restaurants in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, with sports bars filled with HD televisions broadcasting Spanish-language sports shows.

Fifth Street Gaming has a diverse portfolio of casinos, gaming taverns, restaurants and bar concepts including the Downtown Grand, and it also operates the Lucky Club and Silver Nugget Casino in North Las Vegas. Schorr is one of the state’s pioneers in offering eSports wagering, and is a member of the Esports Technical Advisory Committee, which was created by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
