Plaza Hotel & Casino has hired Sue Ascanio as its general manager. Sue is a licensed gaming and hospitality executive with more than 30 years of experience in Las Vegas, Mid-West and tribal gaming. She most recently served as general Manager at River Rock Casino in Sonoma County, California. Before that, she worked for Harrah’s Entertainment for nearly a decade and then with Station Casinos for 12 years.

Plaza Hotel & Casino is undergoing changes. The Strip is expanding as world class attractions are built on the North Strip and Circa on Fremont St.

Brian Christopher's new slot machine debuts in downtown Las Vegas. The social media influencer has a 1.1 million followers on YouTube. He and the Plaza have been working together for years. The area will be renovated to be more social and interactive later this year. It will welcome cameras and give more control over music volume. They will also allow people to take photos. A livestream of the unveiling attracted 19,000 live viewers. Hundreds of thousands more watched it in less than a day. Christopher is proud of his fans' support. New gaming area, animated Carousel Bar under the dome, rooftop patio at Oscar's steakhouse and addition of Vegas-based Pinkbox Doughnuts are being built. Construction will begin later this month and be complete by the end of the year. The Plaza celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and is committed to revitalizing downtown Las Las. Vegas. Mayor Carolyn Goodman was at Tuesday's announcement. She and her husband, former Las LV Mayor Oscar Goodman, are supporting the development.

The Carrot Bar will offer handmade cocktails, beer, and wine among life-sized Vegas-themed elements. It will overlook Main St. at the western entrance to the Fremont Street Experience. A rooftop patio at Oscar's steakhouse will also be added. Sand Dollar Downtown opened last month at Plaza. Mayor Carolyn Goodman and her husband, former Las Las Mayor Oscar Goodman, are supporting the development.

Plaza hotel-casino CEO announced this week that four renovation projects are being launched at the resort on Main Street. The first of them is a smoke-free gaming area. Other additions include a Pinkbox Doughnuts shop, a shaded outdoor bar and a second-floor rooftop patio outside Oscar's Steakhouse.

The Sand Dollar Lounge Downtown will open in early May 2022. The venue will offer free nightly entertainment from local bands and national headliners. It will serve handcrafted cocktails, pizza, and pool. Grand opening celebrations will begin on May 26 and continue throughout Memorial Day Weekend. The Sand dollar bar opened in 1976 and is one of Las Vegas’ most iconic bars. Some of the greatest musicians, including Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Mick Jagger, have played there. There will be a second entrance on Main Street. They will also serve pizza from the Plaza”s Pop-Up Pizza.

IGT's most popular slot machine, Wheel of Fortune, is celebrating 25 years of existence. The company is observing the anniversary with a special Facebook page and special giveaways. IGT introduced wide-area progressive jackpots in 1996. The earliest Wheel game didn't have a wheel. It was a three-reeled mechanical-neither nickel slot game with the game-show theme.
