The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians that operates the Four Winds Casino in South Bend, Indiana inked a new gambling compact with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb. The compact would allow the casino to offer table games, slot games and sports betting.

Four Winds Casino in Indiana to expand its gambling offering. The venue opened its doors in January 2018. It has been operated by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians for the last three years. On Thursday, the state and tribe signed a new Tribal-State gaming compact. Once it gets the approval of the legislature and the Secretary of Interior, it will be re-classified to a Class III venue and offer slot machines, table games, and sports betting.

The new gambling compact has taken more than a year of negotiation between the state and tribal officials. It includes the expansion of gambling operations for the Four Winds Casino and a 10% tax on slot machine winnings. The Pokagon Band is also expanding its South Bend property. The expansion started in September 2019 and it plans to include a 23-story hotel tower featuring more more that 300 hotel rooms and an expansion by adding a convention center.
