The Powerball jackpot has been rising steadily since it was reset earlier this month. On October 20 the numbers were drawn and the jackpots has risen to $73 million.
Wednesday's Powerball draw didn't take the big prize, so it rolls over to Sunday, October 24. One ticket-holder in North Carolina won the second prize of $1 million, but no one won second in the Power Play game. Six winning tickets were sold all over North America, including in California, Texas, Wisconsin, North Carolin, Virginia and Puerto Rico. Two tickets with the third prize doubled to $100,000. Sunday's draw will see ticket holders vying for a jackpot of $86 million with a cash value of$60.9 million.
A ticket-holder in California won the grand prize of $699.8 million on October 4. The last Powerball jackpot won in June was $286 million. In January, there were three winners in four draws. PowerBall website reminds people to gamble responsibly.
