Elon Musk’s ‘Teslas in Tunnels’ Las Vegas project is still happening, and here’s the first station

The first passenger station in the Las Vegas Loop is opened. The station is situated underneath Resorts World Las Las. It's the first in 55 stops along 29 miles of tunnels being built by Elon Musk's Boring Company. Boredoc already operates a small version of this system underneath the Vegas Convention Center. Clark County approved the expansion last year. The company recently received approval to expand its Vegas loop project to include stops at landmarks like the Stratosphere and Fremont Street. They will use human-controlled Model X and Y vehicles to transport passengers. Musk has previously imagined using sleds to shuttle cars from the surface to the tunnels and back.

Freddy Allen is accused of killing Tyler Steffins, 33, an off-duty Seattle-area police officer. Allen refused to be brought to court from the Clark County Detention Center. He is being held without bail. Justice of the Peace Harmony Letizia ordered Allen brought in court on Monday. He was released from jail in February after serving 90 days for his guilty plea to misdemeanor battery.

A group of 76 hospitality workers filed a mass tort lawsuit against Station Casinos. They are seeking damages, civil penalties, back pay and reinstatement to positions for which they are qualified. The lawsuit accuses Station of violating the Right to Return law. Station calls the lawsuit a publicity stunt. The law went into effect on July 1, 2021. It enshrined protections for hospitality employees who lost their job due to the pandemic. Culinary Union hosted a press conference Tuesday morning.

Red Rock Resorts has broken ground on a new $750m casino in Las Vegas. The gaming operator received the relevant permits from Clark County in January and has begun the development of the Durango Station casino and hotel. It will take 18-24 months to finish and will include over 2,000 slot machines and 46 table games, 200 hotel rooms, numerous restaurants, expansive meeting space, a spa, and a sportsbook.
