Caesars Entertainment plans to bring its Isle of Capri Lake Charles property ashore in fall 2022 as Horseshoe Casino LakeCharles. The riverboat casino was damaged during Hurricane Laura last year. It was the first riverboats casino in the southeastern U.S. state to gain approval to move to dry land.

The expansion of the Isle casino will create in excess of 300 construction jobs. The land-based casino is to have 60,000-plus square feet of gambling space, 15,00 square ft more than the previous one.

Isle of Capri Lake Charles was closed down during the pandemic and Hurricane Laura. Caesars Entertainment is planning to re-open the casino in fall 2022.  Caesar's Entertainment has a growing commitment to the state of Louisiana.

DiamondJacks Casino & Hotel in Bossier City closed in May 2020. It was closed days before its 26th anniversary. 4,000-plus casino employees across the state lost their jobs. Caesars Entertainment plans to open a Lake Charles casino.
