Las Vegas Shares Rules and Restrictions for New Year's Celebration, Reminds People to be Safe and Vigilant

The City of Las Vegas is reminding people of the rules for their New Year's Eve celebration, and to be safe and vigilant about reporting suspicious activity.

People who see something suspicious are asked to call (702) 828-9999, report what they've seen to a nearby officer or call 911.

The call for increased attention to suspicious activity comes after a gunman opened fire near the Las Vegas strip on Sunday morning.

As for rules in place for New Year's Eve revelers, glass and metal containers, coolers, strollers and any bags larger than 12/12/6 inches are prohibited on the strip and downtown per a post on X from the City of Las Vegas.

There is a curfew in place prohibiting minors under the age of 18 on the strip and downtown without a parent.

I-15 off-ramps at Flamingo in both directions will be shut down at 5:30 p.m. Road closures on Las Vegas Boulevard from Spring Mountain Road to Tropicana Avenue will begin at6:30 p.m. The Strip will be completely shut down to all vehicle traffic by 8 p.m. 

The city also revealed the locations where fireworks will be launched from.
