The pandemic devastated business on the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International and Wynn Resort had to build their businesses back. Last year, CES, one of Las Las Vegans' highest-drawing conventions, was cancelled because of the pandemics. In early 2022, only 45,000 people attended the show.

CES has grown from a business event to a huge event that fills up the Las Vegas Convention Center and other hotels and convention spaces. This year's show attracted about 100,000 attendees. Business travel may not return to pre-covid normal. The pandemic may have shown some companies that you can do business without the huge cost of attending or exhibiting at trade shows.

The Las Vegas Strip business model has changed. Major conventions will drop but the city will still be successful. Las Las has embraced a sports/leisure event model. The NFL's Las. Vegas Raiders and NHL's Vegas Golden Knights have made their home games events that fill up the Strip. Events like the NFL Draft and the upcoming Las Nevada Strip Formula 1 race have become bigger than the biggest conventions. Entertainment has replaced business as Las' biggest draw.
