Zynga Inc. is about to reach its fifth settlement with the plaintiffs in a series of litigations over illegal gambling in social casino mobile applications.
Zynga is about to settle a lawsuit against it for illegal gambling products. The settlement amounting to $12 million is 25% of the reported damages. It is the fifth settlement for ZyngA in a series of litigations filed against the company in the period from April to October 2015. The previous settlement amounts that the firm agreed to comprise a total sum of $223 million.
Lawsuit against Zynga in California is similar to the one filed in Washington. The suit claims Zyenga's mobile games are illegal gambling machines under California law. The plaintiff is concerned that the games could lead to addiction.
