RICHMOND, Va. (TND) — A woman who won $50,000 from the Virginia Lottery was incredibly excited but not finished playing.
It turned out, Jennifer Minton of Gloucester was just getting warmed up.
A week later, she was sitting around a campfire, playing the same Safari Quest online game that recently debuted, when she won a jackpot worth much, much more: $912,936.
Actually, Minton knew somebody won the big money, but she didn’t realize it was her.
She told lottery officials that when she saw the jackpot suddenly reset, she thought, “Dang, somebody just hit. They are so lucky!”
But luckily, she took a second look at her screen and realized she was the lucky one.
“I’m in shock!” she later said. “I’m in disbelief!”
Safari Quest is one of dozens of online instant games available on the Virginia Lottery’s app.
