Station Casinos bought a land in Henderson for $71 million in 2007. It wants to build a 600-room hotel-casino there. The planning commission will consider the project on February 16. Henderson City Council will vote on March 7. Station expects to begin construction in January 2024. Last year Station bought 126 acres for more than $172 million and demolished three hotels. It is trying to double its property portfolio by 2030. Its parent company Red Rock Resorts is also planning to demolish three properties. In February, it announced plans to open a newly built 21,000-square-foot Wildfire casino in downtown Las Vegas.

Station Casinos sold 56.6 acres of land south of Las Vegas Boulevard to HCA Healthcare for $62.3 million. Station has been trying to overhaul its real estate portfolio recently. It bought 126 acres south and southwest of the Strip for more than $172 million last July. In November, it sold 21 acres next to its under-construction Durango resort for nearly $24 million to an apartment developer. Last month, the Henderson City Council approved the purchase of 35 acres from the Fiesta Henderson property for almost $32 million with plans to build a recreational sports complex there.

HCA Healthcare bought 56.6 acres of land south of Las Vegas Boulevard for $62.3 million. Station Casinos is overhauling its real estate portfolio and selling some properties. It plans to double its portfolio by 2030. HCA operates Sunrise, Southern Hills and MountainView hospitals in the Las Las Vegas Valley. It boasts a total of 182 hospitals and approximately 2,300 other locations. The company does not have any specific plans for the land. Last July, Station bought 126 acres at the southwest corner of Vegas Blvd. and Cactus Ave for more than $172 million and sold 21 acres next to its under-construction Durango resort for nearly $24 million in November.

Station Casinos juggles real estate deals in valley
Station Casinos wants to double its footprint in Southern Nevada by 2030. It has been buying and selling properties to raise cash for construction projects. Station bought 67 acres of land in North Las Vegas for $55 million this month and 21 acres next to its under-construction Durango resort for nearly $24 million. The company plans to build a casino on its 71-acre desert tract along Duranga Drive south of the 215 Beltway. The resort is expected to open in the fourth quarter next year. Red Rock Resorts chairman and CEO Frank Fertitta III says Station will continue to look at development sites.

Station is closing Texas Station and the Fiestas. Station is building the large-scale $750 million Durango Hotel & Casino in southwest Las Vegas and a new tavern project in downtown Las Las Veg. Fiesta Rancho opened its doors in 1994 on 25.5 acres and cost $25 million. It employed 1,748 people. The company will demolish the buildings and keep the Pepsi Ice Arena. The buildings will be demolished and employees will move to other Station properties. They will also be transferred to the new properties if they choose to change. A minimal number of employees are still working at the three properties, most of them in security and building maintenance roles.
