The Rebels coach Marcus Arroyo is looking for a prop to spark the team after a long touchdown or takeaway. Shelby McIntyre, the program’s chief strategy officer and director of recruiting, wanted to implement a slot machine.

UNLV unveiled a new sideline slot machine last Saturday during a home loss to Utah State. The machine cost $60,000 and was produced by IGT. It was supposed to be unveiled last month during the home opener against Eastern Washington, but the production didn't finish until the beginning of last week. It will probably remain on the sideline for the foreseeable future. UNLV coach Marcus Arroyo wanted something to spark the team after a long touchdown or a takeaway. He wanted to use a different prop than the usual one. A former Rebel player helped to connect I GT with former player Joe Haro.
