This information comes from the Prosecutor General's Office.

It is noted that as of this April, over 450 criminal offenses related to the illegal organization of gambling are under investigation.

"21 individuals have been charged. Charges have been filed against 72 individuals, including 7 indictments involving 68 members of criminal groups," the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

Meanwhile, last year saw 169 registered violations of this category.

"Prosecutors are also overseeing proceedings involving several major companies implicated in organizing and operating illegal online casinos," the Prosecutor General's Office statement read.

As an example, the Office cited ongoing proceedings related to the legalization of funds from illegal online gambling activities amounting to a total of 4.8 billion hryvnias.

"Pre-trial investigations are also being conducted into a sanctioned legal entity, which, under the control of Russian structures and citizens, organized and conducted illegal bookmaking activities using the resources of an international bookmaking company," the Prosecutor General's Office conveyed.
