Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel was a mobster who was instrumental in the creation of the Las Vegas Strip. He was the founder of The Flamingo, one of Las Vegas' most famous hotel casinos. Bugsy died at the age of 41, revealing the darkness of his mob life.

Siegel was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in the crime-ridden section of Williamsburg. Siegel and Meyer Lansky established the Bugs and Mayer Gang in 1918. In the 1930s, Sieri left the gang to work for Mafia boss Lucky Luciano. After that he moved to the West Coast and set up many gambling dens and offshore gambling ships.

The Flamingo Hotel was built by mobsters under Bugsy Siegel's direction. The original budget for the casino was $1.2 million, but it ended up costing $6 million. Bugsey Sigel was shot dead in 1947. It is one of the most haunted sites in America. The Flamedo was bought by billionaire Kirk Kerkorian in 1967. Later it was sold to the Hilton corporation and is now owned by Harrah's Entertainment.
