The temporary casino structure is complete. It will be the first wagering facility in Lake County. 700 people will work in the temporary facility when it opens in December. There will also be 50 table games, 1,000 slot machines, three sit-down restaurants, other food options and a large bar. The sportsbook will offer far more than placing a bet on a favorite team. Circa Sports is the partner of Full House Resorts. They will operate the sportsbooks. People can place bets on the score at the end of an inning of a baseball game, a quarter in football game or basketball, and each period in a hockey game.

There are growing numbers of states that allow online gambling. Indiana's casinos generated $691 million in wagering taxes last year. A study found that online gaming could bring in $392 million to $883 million over a three-year period. The study was commissioned by the Indiana Gaming Commission. The Casino Association of Indiana supports the study's findings. There are six states with legal online casinos. They are Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It is estimated that the state could generate $1 billion in revenue over three years.

The Waukegan Planning & Zoning Commission has approved the site plan for a temporary casino in Lake County, Illinois. The commission unanimously recommended the council approve the plan. Aldermen are to vote on the recommendation on March 21. Full House Resorts is targeting July for the opening of the temporary American Place casino. It bought a tent structure from Sprung Structures. The temporary 75,000-square-foot tent-like structure is set to open by July. Last month, Fullhouse announced it entered into an agreement to purchase 10 acres of land adjoining the nearly 30-acre casino site to be leased from the city.

The application window for the Vigo County casino license has closed. Churchill Downs Incorporated sent a press release with information about their plan. The company is proposing the "Queen of Terre Haute Resort"

Wind Creek Hospitality has plans for a 64,000-square-foot casino in Homewood and East Hazel Crest. Hard Rock Casino Rockford opened last month. Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort in southern Illinois” received initial approval from state regulators this summer. Chicago will choose a casino operator early next year. The six new casinos are designed to generate revenue for the state to pay for construction projects at public schools, state universities and community colleges. The state s $45 billion “Rebuild Illinois" capital plan is aimed at rebuilding the economy.

Full House Resorts has signed an agreement with an Indianapolis-based general contractor for its proposed $250 million casino and hotel property in Vigo County. The casino would be called American Place and would include a hotel and a glass "greenhouse" restaurant. It is projected to create 1,800 construction jobs and 800 permanent jobs. Full House has an arrangement to locate a temporary casino in the Haute City Center mall pending the approval of the casino license. It's expected to take 18 to 24 months. Avery Morgan is collecting signatures for a petition asking the state agency to give favor to a casino operator that provides manned poker tables.
