In Las Vegas, the big players go for spectacle and grandeur in building properties that make normal hotels look tiny. Red Rock Resorts, owners of Station Casinos brand, is trying to do something different. It is closing 3 casinos and expanding. It's a way to clear its path toward adding new locations. The company caters more to locals than tourists.

Red Rock Resorts has big plans for expansion, including a bold Strip-like property. The company has taken a do things differently approach by working hard to build a local clientele instead of relying on tourists. The Company uses the Station Casinos name on its properties. It is also competing with Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resort International, Wynn Reserves and Get Free Report.

Another new casino is coming to Las Vegas. Caesars Entertainment is rebranding Bally's as the Horseshoe and MGM Resorts International is selling Mirage to Hard Rock International. Fontainebleau Las Las on the North Strip will be a huge property featuring 3,780 hotel rooms and 550,000 square feet coming in late 2023. MSG - Get Free Report Sphere at the Venetian will have a 17,500-seat entertainment venue and a basketball-association-ready arena.

Circa is a new resort casino on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. The area has a rougher reputation than the Las Las Vegas Strip. It's a contrast to the Strip, which is known for its glitz and glamour. The new casino will be the latest development on the downtown area. There are many casinos and entertainment venues on LasVegasy Strip now.

Fifth Street Gaming plans to develop a hotel-casino dedicated to the Latino community. Las Vegas caters to everyone. Red Rock Resorts targets locals and Fremont Street casinos serve older customers.  

MGM Resorts International sold Mirage and bought Cosmopolitan. Caesars Entertainment revamping Ballys resort/casino under Horseshoe brand and putting Flamingo up for sale. Red Rock Resort Inc. is busy acquiring land and developing a downtown casino on Fremont St. It closed another casino. It may be part of a bigger plan. The company is run by the billionaire brothers who once owned the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Macquarie Research thinks casinos in Las Vegas are in better shape to handle an economic downturn than in the past due to leaner cost structures and tight supply. Vegas searches are also noted to show continued growth. MGM Resorts has the highest revenue exposure to Las Las Vegas at 47%, followed by Caesars Entertainment (CZR) at 45%, Vici Properties (VICI) (30%), Golden Entertainment, (GDEN) and Wynn Resort (WYNN). Boyd Gaming (BYD) has indirect exposure.

Red Rock Resorts is building a new resort casino in the Fremont Street area. The company operates resort casinos far off the Las Vegas Strip. Red Rock's smaller scale gives it an intimate connection to its customers. Redrock's plans include having large swatches of land ready for future development.

Wells Fargo analysts warn of a slowdown in the U.S. gaming industry. They expect a more cautious management tone on growth outlooks.

Scott Kreeger will be the new President of Red Rock Resorts on February 28, 2022. Mr. Kreeser rejoined the Company in September 2021 from Galaxy Entertainment Group in Macao, where he was Director of Operations Development, New Resort from January 2018. He joined Station Casinos in 2000 and held several senior positions in operations, property management, marketing, technology and Native American gaming.

The casino industry is recovering at a faster rate than expected and is on track to surpass $44 billion in revenues this year.

Investors are bidding up Las Vegas-related stock prices and valuations. Some casino operators are looking to cut their direct exposure to the city. Las Las. Vegas Sands agreed in March to sell its Strip properties to VICI Properties. Investors can consider three ways to play that market: REITs, casino and resort operators on the Strip and those whose focus is off the strip.
