Officials in Nagasaki Prefecture want more information on the consortium being led by Casinos Austria International. The Kyushu authority selected the enterprise to serve as the preferred operating partner for its tilt at winning one of the coming three integrated casino resort licenses.

The prefectural assembly meeting in Japan is concerned about the funding of the Casinos Austria International Japan Incorporated subsidiary. The company is trying to secure one of 40-year casino licenses worth $3.1 billion.

The government of Nagasaki Prefecture is scheduled to present its draft plan concerning the envisioned integrated casino resort in November. The jurisdiction is expecting the development with its 2,200 slots and 220 gaming tables to generate annual gross gaming revenues in the region of $1.3 billion from a clientele that is at least 70% domestic.

Oshidori International Holdings Limited came second in the August race to be named as the preferred operating partner for Nagasaki Prefecture. The third-placed runner, The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group, expressed similar concerns.

Gambling is illegal in Japan, but the coalition government passed a law in July 2018 to license a trio of integrated casino resorts. Locales must submit their completed license applications to a panel of federal selectors before the conclusion of April 28.
