Sightline Payments and Acres Manufacturing Company have invested $300 million in Project 250 to implement cashless gaming at slot machines across the United States. The goal is to facilitate digital payments technology at 250,000 slot machine within 36 months. To date, only 10 of the 44 states offer gaming have launched casheless for their customers. The companies believe the investment will accelerate the shift toward cashlessness. It will drive the industry towards the apex of an adoption inflection curve. They point to the adoption of EMV chip and contactless technology in retail stores.
