A record poker jackpot hit at Rivers Casino early Sunday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m. a Pittsburgher won nearly $1.4 million with a seven-card straight flush playing a Fortune Pai Gow Poker Progressive jackpot game.

The Casino says the winning cards were a 10,9,8,7,6,5 and 4 of clubs.

The exact winning jackpot is $1,391,967 and not only the largest Pai Gow prize claimed at Rivers Casino it’s also a property record.

The jackpot has been increasing steadily since April 2017 and this was the first time the full jackpot hit.

The largest payout before was over $92,000.

“It’s such a fun and momentous experience watching a jackpot grow until it finally hits,” said Andre Barnabei, assistant general manager at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “Congrats to our local guest and also to our Rivers Pittsburgh dealers and Team Members for always doing a great job.”

Pai Gow Poker uses cards instead of dominoes.

“It features head-to-head play against the dealer and an optional bonus bet, which triggers the jackpot,” the Casino says. “Players and the dealer each get seven cards to make two poker hands — a five-card “high” hand and a two-card “low” hand.”
