French Roulette, like any other variation of this wheel game, is based around a table-based betting structure and the outcome of a single wheel spin. You click on the chips to indicate your bet size, and then click on the appropriate part of the table to place your desired bets. When all bets are placed, click spin to set the wheel moving, and it will eventually settle on a single number. If that number matches any of your bets, you win.

Often played using the French language at the table, French Roulette is like European Roulette in that its wheel has a single zero (0) slot, with 37 slots on the wheel in total. However, it also has a series of extra bets which all include multiple numbers, such as Finales a Chevel, Orphelins, Tiers du Cylindre, Voisins du Zero, and Finales en Plein.

The game also has an additional La Partage rule, which adds extra options for players. This rule states that when a player bets on an even money outcome, and the game ends on zero (0), the player will receive half of their original stake back.

Every roulette game we offer has its own Help Menu in-game, which contains detailed and important info about your chosen game, including specific rules, bets, and payouts. Scroll down to our Help and Support section below to find out more.

Special French Roulette Features

La Partage Rule - this rule enables players to protect their bet against landing a zero (0) when placing even money bets. When the La Partage rule is in use, and the ball lands on zero (0), any even money bets you have placed split into 2 and you receive half your original bet back.

Announced Bet - these bets cover a large portion of the wheel section by covering more numbers – for example, the voisins du zéro bet covers almost half of the wheel. Announced bets are located on an oval ‘racetrack’ area outside of the main betting board. Sometimes referred to as ‘French bets', you lay your chips at specific points of the racetrack to convey the series of numbers you wish your chosen bet to cover.

Racetrack Bets - this is the area where you place your Announced Bets and enjoy the extra bet options on the French Roulette variant. This area helps to eliminate confusion on the table, as these bets are more complicated and require more chips.

Neighbour Bets - These bets include 5 numbers; select a number and then your bet will automatically include the two numbers on its left side and the 2 numbers on its right side. As an example, if you bet on zero (0) and the neighbours, your bet would include 3, 26, 0, 32 and 15. Your stake is broken down into 5, with 1 portion counting towards each number – so a $5 bet would mean $1 staked on each number.

Autoplay - This is a feature that enables you to set up your preferred bets for a set amount of games in a row. This is particularly popular among players who like to bet the same way each time; set your chip amount, place your bets and specify the number of games, then watch the action play out according to your specifications.

Tips and Strategy

The starting point for any sensible French Roulette strategy is to arm yourself with knowledge; know your bets and be aware of table limits, so you’re fully informed of all the possibilities this game can offer. That way, you go to the table fully prepared and ready for action.

The next step is ensuring sound money management; you can play French Roulette for free, with no deposit needed, but if you play real money games, then having a clear structure for how you wager and what you’ll do with your winnings will stand you in good stead and keep the action fun and entertaining. Only bet at the table limits and with chip amounts that match your bankroll.
