Cynthia Kiser Murphey is the general manager of the Palms off the Strip. She was named by September. The resort was closed during the pandemic and reopened in April. It was sold to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for $650 million in May 2021. It's the first time a Native American tribe owns and operates a resort in Las Vegas. Kizer Mur phey was the president and chief operating officer at New York-New York from 2008 to last spring.

Cynthia Kiser Murphey is excited about the first few months at the Palms resort. Palm's opened restaurants, brought on live entertainment and opened the Pearl Theater.

The public's reaction to the Palms buffet has been great. Wednesday night is lobster night and the chef dresses as a lobster. People come to visit the Ghostbar and share their memories of the resort.

Before joining the Palms, you left a leadership role at a large benefits fund. It was the first year of your career that you didn't work in hospitality.

Cynthia Kiser Murphey is the representative of the San Manuel tribe at the Palms resort. She feels it's her responsibility to help educate the tribe about Las Vegas.   The resort is first tribally owned and operated resort in Las Las.

Cynthia Kiser Murphey is trying to educate Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority about the annual events that happen in Las Las. MurPhey thinks it's exciting to merge San Manuel talent with what's going on in the Las Nevada community.

Palms got its gaming license in December and opened in April. The returning employees have been helpful since the Palms changed ownership. They know about the people and the customers. Palm's love to hear about history and create new stories.

The Palms was famous for its nightlife and celebrity fans. Today, influencers are the new celebrity. Johnny Brenden of Brendens Theatres is excited about the future of bringing celebrities to the Palm. The Palomans will continue to lean into that and have a lot of activation around that.

Palms is a very accessible location for locals. It has amazing movie theaters, remodeled, local artists and local musicians. Now it's moving into sports season. Mabel's BBQ is partnering with local breweries. They'll serve craft beers from L.A., Kansas City and Arizona. Palms' sportsbook has been completely remodelled.

The Strip customer can come to Las Vegas to enjoy the music and dinner and stay over. Yaamava's sister property in California has a strong affinity with its Club Serrano database.

Marc Vetri is coming back to Philadelphia and opening Vetr Cucina restaurant on November 1st. The Pearl is booked for concerts and Kaos is booking live music now.

Cynthia Kiser Murphey is responsible for training her staff for the new Palms resort. The resort opened in four months. It has 120 different IT systems. Palm's needs to build the infrastructure of the policies, the training and the programs.

McKenna Ross is a corps member with Report for America, a national service program that places journalists into local newsrooms. She hopes that guests will feel comfortable and recognized at the Palms.
