MANILA, Philippines—Gaming firm Leisure & Resorts World Corp. (LRWC) has bagged from the state-run Philippine Amusement & Gaming Corp. the first-of-its-kind online traditional bingo (OTB) license, allowing the company to offer bingo games using both onsite and offsite platforms.

LRWC, the same group behind the Bingo Bonanza games operated in shopping malls, rolled out its newest gaming brand BingoPlus through subsidiary AB Leisure Exponent Inc. (ABLE). With this online platform, OTB is expected to be one of the main revenue streams for the company in the future, LRWC said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Thursday (Feb. 3).

“One of the company’s major strategies is to strengthen online platforms to provide more and better playing opportunities to customers during the pandemic and beyond,” LRWC newly appointed president Andy Tsui said in a press statement.

“OTB is a great way to enjoy bingo from the comfort of ones’ home without having to miss out on social interaction and have the chance to win huge prizes,” he continued.

Bingo patrons can access the game via streaming while this is played onsite initially in 18 Bingo Bonanza Traditional bingo halls in Metro Manila and other provincial areas. The company also plans to expand the onsite offering of OTB in other traditional bingo sites nationwide.

This innovative game is seen to transform the way traditional bingo is played by combining the “excitement of the old and the convenience of new technology.”
