A Livingston County man's special set of numbers recently became a winning set, according to the Michigan Lottery.

The 64-year-old player's Lotto 47 ticket matched the winning numbers drawn Jan. 7 — 2-9-20-22-24-39 — to win a $1.15 million jackpot.

He purchased the ticket at a Kroger located at 9700 Chilson Commons Circle in Pinckney.

"I play Lotto 47 often and I always play my special sets of numbers made up of my kid’s birthdates," the player, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Michigan Lottery. "I was checking the winning numbers online the day after the drawing, and when I realized I’d won the jackpot, I couldn’t believe it! I called my kids right away to tell them the good news, and they didn’t believe it either. Winning still feels unreal and hasn’t sunk in quite yet."

He opted to receive a one-time lump sum payment of about $797,000 instead of annuity payment for the full amount. He plans to use the money to pay bills, share with his family and save the rest.
