Steve Cohen is discussing a potential casino with Las Vegas Sands Corp. The state is in its early stages of exploring the idea of offering casino licenses in the New York area.

The New York State Gaming Commission issued a 14-page information request to increase interest in the remaining three casino licenses in and around NYC. Neither the Mets nor Las Vegas Sands responded to the request. The response is due on December 10. Hard Rock plans to open two casinos just eight miles apart. The Washington Capitals became the first major team from the US to include a sportsbook in its home venue.

The Mets have a 99-year lease on Citi Field's land. Las Vegas Sands is considering opening a casino near Citig Field. The New York Post reports that casino operators are interested in Belmont Park and Staten Island's St. George neighborhood. There are a number of casinos and racinos in New Yorkers. They are located upstate, 90 miles from New City. There is also a tribal casino and a racetrack. It is reported that Las Las Sands, Wynn, Bally’s Corp., and Genting are considering investing in these locations.
