Samuel Schmid and James Holmes are accused of killing a Las Vegas Dotty's casino manager Alicia Gibellina. They are being held without bail. They robbed Gibelina of $30,000 of a customer's winnings on May 11.

Las Vegas police officer Caleb Rogers is accused of robbing a casino. He was given a $250,000 bail and suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 3.

Las Vegas police are investigating one of their own officers for the robbery at a casino Sunday morning. Off-duty officer Caleb Rogers, 33, was arrested and booked on charges including burglary with a firearm, assault with deadly weapon and robbery with the deadly weapons. He will be suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

The security team at the Santa Fe Station casino corralled a gunman and detained him. The man shot a guard, but no one else was hurt. The casino is still open and operating. Hospitality security expert Adam Coughran says the quick action by the security guards was huge. He says casinos invest in good security to give visitors confidence about their safety. They get more training than other security guard. It's to keep people who are visiting Las Vegas safe.

The San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission as licensees for Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The resort is set to reopen next year in the spring. Recruitment for more than 1,000 positions is underway. Palm includes more. than 700 hotel rooms and suites, multiple casual and upscale dining options, meeting and convention space, a 2,500-seat theater, pool and spa, and PalMS Place condominiums. The American Gaming Association reports that U.S. casinos are on track to break revenue records in 2021. The nation's commercial casinos won nearly $14 billion in the third quarter alone. However, the industry has seen a resurgence since restrictions were lifted.

The 17-time Grammy award-winning musician started his My Songs residency singing several of his beloved songs. Station Casinos received approval from the Clark County Commission to build a new casino in Southwest Las Vegas. The company unveiled plans for Durango resort off the 215 Beltway and Durago Drive.

The annual Las Vegas Days, which celebrates Las Las' Wild West history, will take place on Nov. 12 and 13. The rodeo will feature eight events each day. Prize purses for the rodeos total $45,000 and custom belt buckles will be presented to the champions. A rodeoing-themed coloring contest for children in grades kindergarten through sixth will also take places.

Millions of fully vaccinated international tourists will be allowed to visit the United States starting on Nov. 8. Las Vegas lost out on tourism revenue due to the pandemic. Caesars Entertainment and Spiegelworld struck a $75 million deal on Thursday. New theater is being built at the Linq Hotel + Experience to create the atmosphere for "Discoshow" which debuts in Las Vegas in late 2022. Station Casinos' newly-approved 211-room Durango project in southwest, Dream Las. Vegas, a 527- room hotel approved to be built south of the Strip next to McCarran Airport, and Majestic Las Las, 720-rooms hotel planned for north end of strip. Marriott scrapped its plans to reopen the former Fontainebleu on the strip today. Palms, Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho remain closed.

CB Investment SpA, a company owned by South American businessman Claudio Fischer, will purchase the ten-acre parcel of land at Las Vegas Boulevard and Elvis Presley Boulevard for $120 million. The agreement to sell requires the development of a resort or hotel operation on the parcel. Proceeds from the sale will be used for Las Las Vegas Convention Center capital projects.

A suspicious person entered the Trump International Hotel at 2000 Fashion Show Dr. and dropped a suitcase and duffle bag near the concierge. He yelled that there was a bomb in the building and people should get out. The man left the property and got into a taxi. 15 minutes later the hotel received 2 bomb threats over the phone. Fashion show Drive was closed between Sammy Davis Jr. Drive and Las Vegas Boulevard during the investigation. A man was arrested in connection to the threat.

The Sanctuary plans to match all donations they get. Research shows marijuana can help cancer patients or patients with serious illness by reducing nausea and pain. It can also help people suffering from seizures. Both organizations acknowledge potential harmful side effects. They advise people to talk with their doctor for recommended treatment.

Station Casinos workers are protesting in front of the Culinary Union headquarters. They want their workers to respect their decision not to have union representation. Union says there's more to the protest than meets the eye. Station Casino workers from Palace Station and Boulder Station voted no on unionization last year.
