How big is the iGaming market in Europe?

The iGaming industry in Europe is booming. The gambling market in the continent accounts for 49 percent of the global market. European online casinos have a market share of 23 percent. European gambling revenue in 2022 will reach more than $99 billion.

Malta is hailed as the "iGaming capital of the world". The Malta Gaming Authority is one of Europe's top licensing authorities. The iGaming industry accounts for 12% of Malta's GDP. Malta has a small population in terms of i gaming users.

Europe has recorded accelerated rates of iGaming participation in recent years. Sweden ranked first in terms of player participation. Denmark had the second-highest turnout rate. The United Kingdom ranked fourth. Online poker accounts for approximately 5% of the market, while bingo accounts to 3%. The lottery is the biggest i gaming segment, making up 17% out of total gaming income.  Online poker is responsible for 5%.

The iGaming industry in Europe is massive. The market has experienced a drop in figures, but it has demonstrated a capacity to recover.
