Gambling bill coming, but what does that mean?
Hawaiian Representative John Mizuno is introducing a sports and card gaming bill tomorrow, Jan. 9. He wants to keep local money in the local economy. Hawai'i residents spend $400 to $800 million a year in Las Vegas. The bill would allow customers to enter sports book and cards rooms after they have registered with the premises and paid a daily fee. House Committee on Economic Development Chair Daniel Holt supports the bill. The legislation addresses social concerns about gambling. It will encourage people to stay in Hawai’i and keep their money here.
